Mr. Finch began collecting antiques in the 1970’s. In 1980 until 1993, he understudied under Mrs. Sally McAdoo who was the icon of estate sales during the 80’s and 90’s in Memphis and the Mid-South. After working for Mrs. McAdoo for many years, he purchased her estate sale business in 1993. He has been conducting estate sales, performing appraisals, and has been involved in the antique business ever since. He has attended several national appraisal conventions with the AAA in New York City to keep up to date on appraisal practice.
Mr. Finch is an Accredited Appraiser and a dealer of antiques, fine art and collectibles for over 40 years. He has operated a highly successful estate sale business for many years and has traveled and studied formally with appraisal colleagues throughout numerous museums and castles in the United States and Europe including England, France, Germany, Belgium, Holland, Switzerland, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Austria, Sweden, Russia, Italy and Sicily. Mr. Finch is a member of the Appraisers Association of America and several local museums and decorative arts organizations. He often lectures on art and antiques and assists with appraisal clinics and has participated on the Antiques Road Show television program.
